Hello HH swim families. I hope everyone had a good weekend. As a reminder we need all athlete availability and job sign up by Noon today so we can plan accordingly. We are showing 28 athletes so far and still have quite a few jobs open. Click here for athlete sign up. Click here to volunteer for a job. Please note that due to the way this venue is set up we need 2 deck managers, one on each end of the pool. I also need some more people to volunteer for the computer entry role. I will help train you but need to be available to help address any issues that come up. Last week Janelle was there to help enter race info when I got pulled away but we need someone on our team to fill the computer role since her family no longer swims with us. It’s not difficult and can easily be done with 1 person entering info in the first half and someone else entering in the 2^nd half if needed. As a bonus it gives you an opportunity to sit down for a little bit and rest your weary feet.

We are AWAY at Roswell Rapids located in Roswell Area Park. Athletes need to arrive at 4:25 for a warm time that will be 4:55 – 5:15. See below for details regarding the facility. We look forward to seeing everyone and GO HH HURRICANES!

General Meet Information:

Location:

Roswell Rapids swims out of the outdoor pool at Roswell Area Park located at 10495 Woodstock Road, Roswell 30075. Once you enter the park, there will be signage to direct drivers to the pool area and surrounding parking. There is ample parking for all families in the surrounding parking lot.

Pool Entrance:

Enter the fenced pool area via the gate that is located on the side of the pool near the Physical Activity Center (around the side of the pool with the grassy area and opposite of the pool building/locker rooms).

Team Area/Bullpen:

We will be allocated the grassy area adjacent to the pool deck for use as a bullpen area for our swimmers. Much of this area is covered by a shade structure, however it is recommended that we bring some tents to ensure enough coverage for all of our swimmers. We will share the bullpen area with Brookfield so please courteous of other swimmers and families.

Spectator Seating:

There are a couple of small sets of bleachers next to the pool, however, spectators are encouraged to bring folding chairs if desired. Please remain mindful of any areas that are roped off and spectators are not allowed inside the roped off areas unless they are fulfilling a volunteer job that requires them to be in that area.

Pool:

Roswell Rapids meets use a 6-lane pool. Starting blocks will be available for swimmers to use on both ends of the pool and swimmers may choose to use the blocks or not based on their individual comfort level and preference.

Warm-up Times:

Hampton Hall has a warm up time from 4:55-5:15pm. Swimmers need to arrive by 4:25pm. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5:30pm

Concessions:

A variety of concession items will be available for purchase. These items generally include pizza, grilled burgers and hot dogs, chips, cookies, candy, a variety of drinks including Gatorade, water and soda and a Sno Cone machine. Roswell Rapids accept cash and credit cards.

Important City Rules:

No alcohol or tobacco is allowed on City of Roswell property.

The City of Roswell does not allow anyone in pool other than swimmers warming up or swimming their events. This includes dangling feet, etc. This is strictly enforced by the lifeguards. Please help us keep everyone safe!
