HH Swim Families,

Thanks for all that participated in the individual and team pictures this morning! They are going to look great! If you placed an order, it will be sent to your email/home in a couple weeks.

This Thursday is Meet #2 and it is away. Here are all the details you need to know.

Location: Pennbrooke Pool at 390 Tumbling Creek Dr. Alpharetta, GA 30005

Arrival time: no later than 4:15 PM; our warm up time in the pool is 4:30 PM. Timer meeting is at 5:15 PM and the meet begins at 5:30 PM.

What to wear: HH Team bathing suit (black) and swim team shirt

What to bring (all optional but highly recommended): sunscreen, bug spray, goggles, swim cap, shoes, 1-2 towels, bag to keep items together, water bottle, cards/book/something to occupy swimmers in between races, dinner/snacks and/or money for concession stand (see below).

Bull Pen: The pool parking lot will be closed to cars and is turned into bullpens with our team on one side and the home team on the other. Trash cans will be in the middle to help keep things tidy. There is an entrance to the pool from the bullpens which places the swimmers directly behind the blocks, so it is easy to get swimmers from bullpens to the blocks for races. There is no shade in the bullpens, so we will bring a couple canopy tents for them to be under. Consider an extra towel for them to sit on too.

Theme: Princesses and Super Heroes; temporary tattoos will be provided during practice on Thursday and before the meet so each swimmer can show their team spirit

Seating around the pool: Bring your own chairs, as the neighborhood HOA does not allow the home team to use their pool furniture. There is some seating space on one side of the pool deck, as well as some seating space outside of the pool fence. One side of the pool is closed to spectators so the official and volunteers can have an unobstructed path by the pool.

Concessions: They take cash or Venmo. The menu is cheeseburgers/hamburgers, hot dogs, Vito's pizza, Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, cold water and gatorade, and the usual assortment of chips and candy.

Parking: There is street parking in the neighborhood and there will be signs directing you which side of the streets you may park on. Please adhere to the signs and please be aware of the no parking zones on the corners of the streets surrounding the pool as this is a safety issue. 

Dinner after a meet is a fun (and optional) HH Hurricane tradition! If the meet doesn't end too late, the coaches would like to invite all families to Taco Mac on State Bridge Road (in the Alpharetta Commons shopping center with Publix; near the corner of Kimball Bridge) immediately following the meet. There is no obligation but all are welcome!

Fun Friday is from 10:00-11:00 AM for all ages. Swimmers will get a donut and the ribbons they won from the meet on Thursday night as well as splash and have fun as a team. Don't miss out! 

LAST NOTE: The away team is doing a fundraiser for children's cancer research. If you would like to purchase a Good Luck Duck, please follow the information below. If you order ducks in advance, you can pick them up at the concession stand at the meet. They will also be available for purchase at the meet.
